About this Site
I once read that there are two stages in the life cycle of a web
site: "under construction" and "out of date." Alas, for the past several
years this website has fallen into the second category.
I started this site in March of 1995. The entire website was
initially made up of hand-coded HTML. I completely revamped the site
in 1998, and kept it up to date for a few years. The current version
was launched in 2008.
Much of the material on this website has something to do with
copyright law. The "photo
gallery" contains pictures from my various travels, and from closer to
home as well. I also have a collection of materials relating to
genealogy.
A Little About Me
I am Director of International Trade and Intellectual Property for the
Business Software
Alliance, a trade association that represents the major US and
multinational computer software and hardware producers.
By training I am a copyright lawyer, though I haven't been in private
practice for several years. I have a longstanding interest in
computers and programming, enjoy amateur photography, and I've become a bit
of an amateur genealogist.
My wife Carol and I have three super kids — Daniel, Andrew and Joshua
— who are pictured to the right.
